Sacramento Technology Group Expands Relationship with Google to Resell Google Apps
Folsom, California, May 25, 2010 - Sacramento Technology Group LLC, a cloud-computing focused consulting company based in the heart of California's Central Valley, has joined the Google Apps Authorized Reseller program, focusing on providing the Google AppsT suite of communication and collaboration tools to markets in the state of California and Northern Nevada. Sacramento Technology Group will utilize their California Small Business certification, enabling many government agencies to purchase up to $250,000 in Google Apps licenses per year per agency from a small certified business.
"We are thrilled to have the Sacramento Technology Group join the more than 1,000 authorized Google Apps resellers around the world," said Stephen Cho, Director of Google Apps Channels. "A big advantage of cloud computing is the constant innovation - information and applications that were once only available to a select few are now available to all businesses. As a result, it is important for us to have resellers like Sacramento Technology Group work directly with government agencies and businesses to ensure they are getting the most out of the cloud."
As part of the authorized reseller program, Sacramento Technology Group can offer businesses and government agencies the entire suite of cloud computing applications including GmailT webmail service, Google TalkT instant messaging service, Google CalendarT calendaring service, Google DocsT program, Google SitesT web application, and Google VideoT which will allow these organizations to work together more effectively on their own domain.
"Moving certain aspects of enterprise technology to the cloud can save state, local, and regional governments and our commercial clients millions of dollars annually." says George Usi, President of Sacramento Technology Group LLC. "Delivering Google Apps to government agencies requires a keen sense of government technology and procurement logistics. We have all of the key ingredients Google Apps needs to be successful in government procurement and have already been delivering Google's Postini solutions to these markets for a number of years."
Sacramento Technology Group began offering Postini, Google's email protection and archiving services, in 2004. By offering Google Apps as well, Sacramento Technology Group can provide businesses with the much needed formula for savings in these difficult economic times while reducing the workload of an overstretched IT staff responsible for running and securing the computer systems that drive critical government applications.
"All businesses had to deal with the spam and virus problems in recent years," said Salvatore "Sam" Fadala, Sacramento Technology Group's resident security chief. "Now, the new problem is the skyrocketing costs needed to secure mundane infrastructure and securely moving email messaging, collaboration, and documents to the cloud is the next natural step. Google's unique architecture appears to offer the most secure, proven, and robust solutions through Google Apps. Moreover, Google developed Google Apps to work natively in the cloud and have designed the platform to integrate seamlessly with most existing infrastructure and security systems."
The Google Apps Reseller program includes resellers, consultants and independent software vendors that sell, service and customize Google Apps Premier Edition for their customers. Sacramento
Technology Group received training, support and deployment services from Google, as well as access to APIs for integrating Google Apps into their customers' business operations. Sacramento Technology Group is able to retain a close relationship with their customers in order to provide additional service and support. The businesses receiving Google Apps will benefit from the additional attention to their specific needs.
